Before paying a visa agency, establish who provides the service, what it will prepare and where your application will be submitted. Tourism, study and work relocation use different procedures; an accessible office and reviews do not replace an appropriate legal ground.

This guide examines the visa-assistance chain: records, booking, filing and delivery of the decision. A longer residence or citizenship engagement needs the separate immigration-company checks.

Identity and the relevant specialism

Request the contracting entity’s full name, registration number, address, contacts and signatory’s authority. Match the payee with the agreement. A brand, domain and legal entity can differ; that needs explanation rather than an automatic allegation.

Check the applicable official register and contact the business independently. Registration establishes certain recorded facts, not the authenticity of an email. An office and years of advertising do not authenticate every professional qualification.

Specify the destination, Nigerian nationality, Nigerian residence and visa category. Tourism experience is not the same as employment or national-residence support. Ask for a procedurally comparable example without requesting another client’s personal records. Messenger-only contact without a clear contracting party needs further investigation.

Scope and personal actions

List the stages before payment: category selection, checklist, form review, permitted appointment help, filing and decision delivery. Define the work product and responsible person for each. What does the agency prepare and what must you obtain from a bank, employer or authority?

Separately establish biometrics, interviews, originals, translation and passport delivery. Private assistance cannot remove compulsory attendance. The receiving authority determines evidence; no universal pack fits every destination.

Retain your own account access and copies of the form and submission. Do not authorise fabricated employment, resources or reservations, or conceal earlier refusals. Record why an original is handed over, to whom and how it returns. Avoid sending unnecessary sensitive records in an open chat.

Official channels and visa promises

Start with the embassy or government instructions. Where they refer to an external centre, follow that link and match destination, submission country and category. A business calling itself a visa centre is not official merely because of the name.

Compare the proposed service with the current checklist and jurisdiction for residents in Nigeria. Another country’s resident procedure may not fit. Ask for the relevant official rule, date and explanation of its applicability.

The state decides. “100% visa guaranteed” establishes neither authority nor eligibility. Form preparation, appointment waiting, official examination and delivery are different periods. Paying an adviser for urgency does not itself accelerate the government process.

Agreement, charges and refunds

Obtain the agreement in advance. It needs parties, services, stage outputs, prices, payment schedule, work deadlines, responsibilities, termination and refunds. Unpack “complete processing” before signing.

Separate professional, government and centre charges, translation, insurance and delivery. Confirm currency, transfer costs and payee. A cheap quote may omit necessary expenses; a high one does not prove quality. Agree additional work before another payment.

After refusal, identify work already delivered and which payments are refundable. Not every cost is automatically recoverable. Lack of control over the government decision does not remove responsibility for the agreed professional work.

Reviews, questions and warning signs

Compare review dates, destination, category, detail and company responses. Several similar endorsements or accusations are not independent verification. Consultation, application acceptance and visa issuance are different outcomes and should not be merged into an invented success rate.

Before payment, ask who handles the file, which records are needed, what is included, how prior refusals are addressed and what changes after new rules. Request an explanation of possible obstacles rather than a general guarantee.

Investigate urgent payment pressure, refusal to share an agreement, an unexplained payee, contradictory instructions or requests for originals without a purpose. One sign alone does not prove misconduct. Record the specific discrepancy and verify it against evidence.

The distinction between an intermediary’s service and a consular decision also applies to Service Legal’s Austria visa support: compare each promised output with the provider’s contractual duties.

Final checks and reporting corrections

Before paying, establish the legal entity, relevant specialism, scope, official channel, total quote, personal actions and termination terms. Reviews supplement those checks rather than replace them. Obtain a written answer to an unexplained material point first.

To report an editorial error, identify the page, disputed statement and primary source through the active contact section. A full passport or banking history is unnecessary for reporting a factual correction.
